The Olympus-35 EC2 is an improved version of very popular model of the Olympus-35 EC.
The Olympus-35 C2 is a electronic controlled 35mm compact camera.
Like most of Olympus compacts it has a surprisingly high quality lens.
It features a fixed Zuiko 42mm f/2.8 lens comprised of 5 elements in 4 groups. It takes 43.5mm filters. The electronic shutter is a Seiko ESF and is automatically controlled and cocked with the press of the shutter release. It has a shutter speed range of 4 to 1/800 sec.
There are two indicator lights for the camera.
There is a yellow light on top of the camera as well as in the viewfinder. This acts as a battery check feature with a half press of the shutter release. It will also briefly lights as a slow shutter warning when speeds are 4s to 1/30 of a sec. A light in the finder will appear when a flash is mounted and required to take proper exposures. The light will not emit if there is sufficient light. A shutter lock feature is on the face of the camera to prevent unwanted exposures or meter readings.
There is an accessory shoe, on the top plate as well as a tripod socket on the base.
The flash light did change to a green color unlike the EC or ECR with blue lights. The Flash is possible with 1/20 of a sec. flash sync and connects via a PC terminal on the left side of the camera. The flash guide number can be set on the lens with the ring closest to the camera body. The exposure meter is based on a CdS cell.
The film speed can be set on the top plate of the camera with a range of 25 to 800 ASA.
Focusing is done on the lens collar. It uses a zone focus system with a range of 3’ to infinity.
There are focus stops for 1m, 1.5m, 3m and infinity. They are also represented in the viewfinder by iconography of a person’s face, portrait, group and mountains. The film transport has a auto resetting counter, uses a manual thumb wheel for advancing the film, and a rewind crank is on the base of the camera. The exposure system and shutter is powered by 2 mercury PX640 batteries.

User’s opinion:
This is one great little camera, the perfect sidearm for the street photographer!
This Olympus 35 EC2 provides collectors with all the old-school charms of film photography. It winds its film "backwards" unlike most film cameras. Instead of loading the film from left to right, this rangefinder camera loads film from right to left. This is an important thing to remember when advancing the film. A thumb wheel moves the film forward in this Olympus 35 EC2 instead of an automated system. A "rewind" lever is also located on the bottom of this Olympus 35 mm camera for rewinding completed rolls. It's an outstanding camera with an excellent f2.8 E.Zuiko 42mm lens, and can make use of an optional external flash.
Unlike the ECR and similar Olympus range-finders the EC2 uses a rather forgiving zone focusing system making this an excellent camera for anyone wanting to shoot street photography. The EC2's focusing ring clicks between ranged focal stops so you don't have to worry about accidently knocking it out of focus if your changing orientation or adjusting the cameras positioning whilst shooting. Switching between focal ranges is very fast making it an easy camera to use. This camera excels in those situations when you are suddenly presented with unexpected or quick moving subject and you need to react quickly in setting up the shot.
In short if you enjoy vintage film cameras and want a small light compact camera to shoot street then this is for you.
All in all, this Olympus 35 EC2 is a stylish, well-built camera for film enthusiasts.
You'll love how the Olympus works - has a great lens and takes very nice sharp, properly exposed photos.
The camera is in perfect condition with no issues at all.
