Collection of 7 Yashica Manual Lenses from private collection. C/Y mount, all in excellent condition, with both caps.

Yashica cameras and lenses are among the best in the photography business. The main reason of the highest quality of Yashica lenses is their relations with Zeiss.

In 1973, Yashica the company began a collaboration with Carl Zeiss it called Top Secret Project 130 to produce a new, professional 35mm SLR lenses for the Contax brand. A new prestige line of Yashica/Contax lenses designed by Carl Zeiss were introduced for the camera, with a common C/Y bayonet mount allowing lens interchange between all 35mm Contax and Yashica SLR camera models. The F. Alexander Porsche Group was hired to complete an ergonomic and styling study of the new camera.
Since this joint operation Yashica Lenses became identical to correspondent Zeiss models. They have similar look and functionality, but different names and brand. These lenses were incredibly popular till early 2000’s when digital cameras began dominate photography around the world.
Starting from 2011 mirrorless cameras began to gain popularity again. It became possible to adapt many old lenses to the new cameras.
At that time former popularity returned to many old lenses and especially to Yashica as slightly cheaper alternative to Zeiss.
