Kiron 28-210 mm f/ 4-5.6 Macro

The Kiron 28-210mm f / 4-5.6 Macro is an adaptable manual zoom lens for 35mm SLR cameras from the popular non-autofocus systems of the 70s and 80s.

The lens has a multi-layer coating.
By design, it is a single-ring "trombone". Has a macro mode, maximum scaling 1: 4.
Production - Kino Precision Industries, Tokyo, Japan.

The lens has a good rep on the web, someone dubbed it a "cult classic".

The Kens is very sharp from 5.6 onward. Really nice tone. Great build quality.
Overall handling and build quality is quite impressive.

Will this lens replace every lens in the bag? No. However, mated to a fast 28mm or 35mm prime, it will create a low-cost, yet effective travel setup.

That said, if you're in the habit of photographing landscapes that are several meters away from you, and in good light, the Kiron could come in very handy with its broad focal length range. As with most other lenses, stop it down (as you would for landscape photography) and you can expect very good results.
